Lovely Coober Pedy Opalised sea shell (most likely pipi). Lots of crazing and cracks are present, with some blue colour on one side. 653.20cts, 36x25x16mm approx.
An opalised shell occurs when opal sets in the shell which then dissolves over time, leaving the shell's imprint - almost like a natural jelly mould.
